This image depicts the Swiss Findel Glacier, compiled from laser-based measurements made by the University of Zurich in 2005 and 2009. The coloured regions correspond to ice loss. On average, the glacier has lost 3.5m of its thickness for a total loss of some 49 million cubic metres of ice.
